As the heart of Fall approaches, and along with it the colder weather, I realized that this is a great time to mention a new frugal and intimate date night idea. My husband and I are lucky in the fact that we live somewhere where we have a great view of the sky. We ate up many nights sitting in two chairs while looking up at the sky. That doesn't mean, however, that those of you who don't have a great view of the sky can't participate in an evening of romantic star gazing.
The reason I mentioned that the cool weather is a great time to star gaze has to do with the fact that the two of you can snuggle under a blanket while gazing at the night sky. What better way to spend quality time?
Several choices are available for you to pick from regarding how to set up a star gazing date with your significant other. Include information such as the best time to go star gazing, the best items to bring with you and a good location where you won't get ran out by the police.

Factor in time as you plan your date. Twilight, just after sunset but before the moon rises, is the best light to see the stars in.
Plan ahead on where you will star gaze. Those of you who live in the city can still have the chance to stargaze. Driving just 15 to 20 minutes away can give you a clear enough location to star gaze. (I found this out when I moved to the city for a short time and found I missed the country.) Call a ranger station to see if you can park for awhile in a recreation area or contact a visitor's bureau as they are more than willing to tell you a place if they know of any.
Pack items including a blanket, drinks, light snacks, bug spray, binoculars and a star chart. Take turns identifying the stars. Even novices can appreciate a decent night of star gazing.
