13 Proposal Ideas for the Not So Proposal Savvy Person
The ProposalAre you trying to figure out the perfect way to propose to your partner, but are not quite sure what to do or have not quite found the perfect way yet? Here are several different types and ways to make that proposal perfect and just your style.
1. Send your partner on a treasure hunt. Start with a clue at your house, and then send them all over your city with clues hidden in all of your favorite spots. When they get to the last clue, you should be there as the prize, down on your knee ready to propose.
2. Have a friend or family member set up a picnic in a discrete area at a nearby park or beach with yours and their favorite foods, including champagne (or sparkling cider). Take your partner on a hike or walk around the park or beach and “stumble” across this pre-set up proposal picnic. You can even have a friend or family member hide and take a picture as you propose or after they says yes.
3. If you guys happen to be frequent flyers, you can ask the flight attendant if you can use the loud speaker and propose to them that way (you should preferably be sitting in first class, to enjoy the comfort, space, and drinks).
4. Draw a bath and sprinkle rose petals on top of the water, then place a floating candle with your engagement ring tied to it (or securely sitting on top of it and make sure the drain for the bath is tightly plugged). Then make a path of rose petals leading to the bathtub.
5. Tie a red velvet ribbon from one spot of your home to another. Attach little notes reminiscing on special moments the two of you have had throughout your relationship, with you being the last stop with the ring in hand.
6. Upload a video of your proposal on YouTube and tell your partner that they must see this “hilarious” video.
7. Create your own personal fortune cookie with your own proposal message inside.
8. Spell your proposal out with glow-in-the-dark stars on your ceiling, and when you turn out the lights, wait for them to see it and answer.
9. Write “Will You Marry Me?” on the underside of a kite and take flight one warm breezy afternoon.
10. Gather both of your families together for a spring/summer BBQ and include your families in on the proposal.
11. Rent a Vespa scooter and invite your partner for a ride. In the helmet have the ring tied to one of the straps. Then take a ride around town to celebrate.
12. Meet your partner at a nice hotel for a drink or dinner. When it is time to go, casually mention that you have already reserved a room in that hotel for the night. When you open the hotel room, have roses, candles and champagne all set up for your perfect proposal surprise.
13. Make a list of the top 10 reasons why you want to marry your partner, then write them on note cards and have them delivered to your partner throughout the day (or over 10 days), with you arriving with the last card and the proposal.
